Maybe. I've been trying to understand, too. It's kind of creepy to think about it, especially when you think about what your note said from your adventure. About people basically merging with this place.

[squelching]

[she slowly nods.]

It's getting harder to believe people have actually made it out of this.

[resumed]

...could be why they brought even more of us for "this round" than the last. They needed more people to stay behind for something else. [ ...this is kind of bad, actually. ] I don't think any of us are going to willingly stay here, but it makes you wonder how much of what we're hearing about being able to get back if we follow their conditions is true.

[squelching]

A lot of it isn't true, it feels like.

Didn't the notes from last week feel a little contradictory?

[resumed]

No, you're right. It feels like they were two different drafts of the same idea but they couldn't settle on what version of events they wanted to follow. Some of us noticed, too. But I can't think of why that is, or why we managed to find both in that case.

[squelching]

It's weird. If they didn't purposely plant them to toy with us, did somebody else take them and leave them there for us for us to find...?

[resumed]

And if there is somebody else, who are they and why did they leave them? Is it something we can even trust? Phoenix told me to keep an eye out for white papers, but it feels like it was too convenient to find them. Doesn't it? Why are these papers scattered somewhere we can't normally reach by ourselves?

It kind of feels like I know even less about this place than I did when we first got here.

[squelching]

A lot of what we were told at first was... inaccurate. I'm not surprise we have more questions now than answers.

Did you ask Phoenix why we should keep an eye out for white papers?

[resumed]

It came up the first time I was able to speak to them privately because I'd asked where I could start looking for answers. And they said to keep an eye out for anything "odd" or something that "didn't belong." And they went on to say "white objects in odd places, papers with strange writing, and villains saying things outside of the normal villain fare" as examples.

Which sort of seems like what all of these notes are when you think about it.

[squelching]

... It fits the description. Well, at least the first two do. We haven't run into any villains saying anything like that lately, have we?

[resumed]

[ he thinks about if argalia counts... ]

Not that I know of. Which makes me wonder where these supposed villains might actually show up, and when.

[squelching]

Hmm... Maybe it's time to ask Phoenix again. There could be something we passed off as ordinary when it wasn't.

You're probably right. It's been a few weeks, so maybe there's something else that's become available to us now that'll answer a few questions.
