A novel called a choose-your-own-adventure. It's quite interesting - it reminds me a bit of a game. Would you like to play?

Axel's going to slide in beside him, and lean against his shoulder purposefully as he peeks over at the book. ]

It's a collection of stories called a "choose your own adventure". Supposedly, the plot differs depending on the choices that you make while you read.

[ he holds the book up for axel's inspection if he wants to read over his shoulder. ]
