I ate something called a Devil Fruit at home. It gives you a unique power based on the fruit-- but they're called Devil Fruits because it's a deal with the devil. In exchange, the sea hates you. Water saps away all your strength and you can't swim anymore.

It's like a lesser version of it. I ate the Flame Flame fruit, so now I'm a flameman. [ that does not make it an explanation just because you say the word flames, ace. ] I am fire, which means I can turn into and control it.

If you have a lesser version of that fruit's power it'd make sense if you had less sinking than normal. It's pretty unfair that isn't how this works.

Yeah, well... There's way worse fruit powers out there and they still can't swim, so mine is still leagues above that even not full power. It's fine.
