she'd said it to hanako, a while ago, that she didn't want to be the last one. that she's always the last one. she wonders if whoever killed danny knew that. she wonders if that even matters. he'll be back. she shouldn't get upset when it's just a couple of days.

... and then, maybe like. kind of abruptly:]

What are you going to do after all of this?

[squelching]

[blinking a little, surprised by the abrupt subject change, but... she shakes her head.]

I don't know. I thought... I should go home. To keep looking for my dad. But the only reason I want to find him is so he can send me back to where I came from.

[hmmm.]

... Do you want to go back to where you came from really bad? [she pulls back finally, watching saya with all like twelve of her eyes.] Or would you be cool with a place where you weren't alone?

[squelching]

... I don't even know where it is. I think Dad brought me to Earth right when I was born. But there's nothing for me on Earth, either.

[so... no... she looks back at her, curiously. and a little hopefully, maybe.]

[that's fine with her, she just wraps her arms around saya again and holds her very tight, tucking saya's head under her chin.]

You know I don't care about what you look like. [just making that clear. she knows it might be an issue in some worlds, but whatever. they'll figure it out.] I like being with you too.
